The name 'Pisco Elqui' already indicates the relationship with the famous liquor "Pisco" which is characteristic for this region, the valley and, of course, for this village carrying the same name.
The cradle of Pisco
Pisco Elqui is surrounded by beautiful vineyards. Grapes are the base of the legendary Pisco. This valley was the cradle of the pisco and therefore the village got its name in the year 1936.
More than 300 sunny days
This village is a green oasis in the middle of the dry mountains here in the semi-desert. We got more than 300 sunny days every year!
And the Ufos ?
It is also widely known that the surroundings of Pisco Elqui belong to the areas most visited by Ufos all over the planet. It is difficult to meet a native who has not yet seen at least one... We've got the biggest natural planetarium here.. in clear nights you can watch thousands of shooting stars or meteorites... and the ufos? Some people say, joking, that the number of Ufos watched is increasing with the number of Pisco Sours you had. Anyway, there still remains a mystery. Find out for yourself!
